There is an endless number of places to enjoy a drink in San Diego so we’ll just touch on a few that we’re familiar with , or that are popular.
The Carriage House – This is just behind Honey’s (see
“Places to Eat” page). A dive bar with karaoke every night, pool tables, and
table shuffleboard.

Victor’s Cocktails – A pool hall with a “no swearing” rule.
(Yelp)
The Bullpen Bar & Grill – A sports bar with good food – from
burgers to sashimi.

O’Brien’s American Pub – A small craft beer pub with outdoor
seating, inexpensive food, and a few sports TVs. Almost always crowded.

Blarney Stone Pub – Right next to the One Stop Nail
Salon so the men have a place to relax while the ladies get their pedicures.

Chorus Karaoke and Cafe
– Never been here but it's
practially right around the corner! It has great reviews on Yelp as a really fun place with a good happy hour. It seems you rent
your own private Karaoke room where you can eat, drink, and sing. Now I know why we haven't been there. ;)

Downtown is full of bars and dance clubs. It’s a great idea to email a club during the day and ask to be put on their guest list (usually by 5pm – look up their guest list procedure). You’ll get in for free or a discount before 10 or 11pm!
Double Deuce
– Great drink specials during the week and a mechanical bull! This place is
always a lot of fun. They play a variety of music in two different rooms. More
casual than the “hot spots”.

Altitude Sky Lounge
– On the roof of the Marriott, it has a great view overlooking the ballpark and
no cover charge! Very popular during a Padre game.

OMNIA Nightclub – A trendy upscale rooftop club.

Side Bar – It’s What’s Hot! A bar full of beautiful people.
(map)
Tilted Kilt – Just outside PetcoPark it’s a large
casual place with lots of sports TVs and the waitresses wear darling (darling?)
little kilt uniforms.
(map)
Tivoli Bar & Grill – A small neighborhood bar (oldest one
downtown) it’s a great place to get a brew and a dog before a game.

Old Town Saloon – Set in the very popular tourist destination of Old Town, a great crowd mixture young to old. Pool tables, casual, surrounded by Mexican restaurants, sushi, etc.
Waterfront Bar & Grill
– The oldest bar in San Diego just north of downtown in Little Italy. Great food (much better than your average bar food!)
and super casual.
